Merry Christmas and happy holidays beauties!
The celebration season is officially here, how are you going to make it your most glamorous yet?
We know at this point you're probably racing with errands and last minute happenings, but if you get a chance at all - here is your official reminder to slow down, soak it all in, and do a little something for YOU amongst it all! May you enjoy the love and warmth around you during this very special part of the year, indulge your passions and interests, and take a little recharge time to get you excited and prepped for the upcoming new year. One of my most favourite things to do on Christmas Eve (and Christmas itself of course), is really remember everything that happened throughout the year (good and bad). Sometimes we didn't have the year we'd like, other times we worry of how we'll ever be able to top the one we just had. Understand that for better or worse, they were a gift, and preparation for the next bigger thing coming your way. This is where your imagination can really run wild... where will 2013 really take you? What will the new year inspire you to take on and change (or keep) in your life?
I loved doing this look - it had been so long since I really went all out and tried something different with my makeup! While the picture itself may not do it glittery justice, I had fun really blending in a rich shimmering base, then packing the Glitterama on in Starlight. When it comes to sparkles, it can get messy lining the eye with a stick formula, so I always opt for an inky, fast-drying gel or pen to do the trick (without rubbing anything off). I used EyeInk for my look, but the SmudgePaints also work wonders when paired with an angled brush for the same effect (plus you can really build your intensity up, while mixing and matching colours). My bottom lash line is thanks to a mix of shadows blended into Mineral Pigment Dust in Myth, and all smoothed out with Smudgeliner in Ohmygoth!. False lashes are always a celebratory fave, and I used some doubled up ones for these pics. Of course, this all would have no prepped backdrop if I didn't prime my skin with a combination of BB Cream in Light-Medium, touches of BB Skin Perfecting Concealer (also in light), and a brush of BB Compact Makeup to seal the deal in. The final colour infusion is all thanks to Big Show Lip Shine in Shout on the pout, and Blush On in Rose Fawn over the apples of my cheeks!
These are all the goodies I used to create my holiday look - stay tuned for my New Years Eve addition coming next week! Of course I can't quite mention them yet, but lets just say Santa came a little early this year and delivered me some Spring 2013 beauty goodies ahead of time... maybe if you look closely you can guess what they are... I'm wearing them! Alas, I must hold my tongue for now, but know you'll love the new additions to the line (I'm obsessed). Any guesses?
What will you be wearing when that special someone catches you under the mistletoe?
